The goal of the physician-strength microdermabrasion procedure is to safely and painlessly remove the outer layers of dead or damaged skin to expose the fresh new skin underneath. Microdermabrasion remains a popular treatment because it's fairly inexpensive and provides immediate results. Skin feels immediately smoother after a treatment and pores may even look smaller. It can be done on any part of the body and usually takes between 30 minutes to an hour to perform.
Microdermabrasion is also useful when used before other treatments like chemical peels or Photodynamic Therapy because it helps topically applied products penetrate the skin more effectively.

Triple Peel Microdermabrasion
One of our most popular treatments, this microdermabrasion procedure gives you three types of exfoliation. It consists of a deep cleansing followed by a skin analysis. An enzyme treatment which loosens dead skin is applied. One of the staff of experts at Skinspirations will then perform the Microdermabrasion procedure using a device that polishes off the loosened skin.
If needed, pore extractions are then performed along with either a lactic or glycolic acid treatment for even more exfoliation. The procedure ends with a customized mask under light steam, during which patients receive a relaxing arm and hand massage.
What to Expect During a Microdermabrasion Procedure
After a gentle but thorough cleansing, a hand-held device blows tiny crystals onto the surface of the skin and suctions the crystals and loosened skin back into the machine. No anesthetic is needed.
The skin will sometimes be pink for a few hours after a treatment, especially in lighter complexions, and you will immediately see a glowing, smoother complexion that even feels softer. Make-up can be reapplied immediately afterward.
